I can’t remember a time when I didn’t enjoy walking in the forest, alone or with another. The trees solved most of my problems…or convinced me that my imagined problems were irrelevant to a serene life. I just now recalled a quote from my school days. Thank you, Mrs. Erickson (my English teacher). Every spirit is renewable.
“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” ― Robert Louis Stevenson
And, yeah, this was my backyard from age 5 to 18? Blessed, n’est-ce pas?
